Filming of the Phoenix Rising – Helen’s Story
Welcome to the world of hang gliding. This is APA filming Helen’s story….Helen Lee is a remarkable woman who suffered a traumatic brain injury six years ago from a hang gliding accident. She has written a book and APA are making a short film to promote the upcoming launch. All photos taken on my phone.
This is the hang glider Helen had her accident on. Steve is setting up for a reenactment shot
Up close and personal during the set up of the hang glider
Helen’s accident happened during a tow – this is the sort of plane that tows hang gliders up into the air
Steve capturing the plan taking off for a check flight before the day’s work
Helen’s husband Wayne has only recently begun to hang glide again. This is him taking off at Beechmont.
Picking up Wayne where he landed.
Some of Helen’s treatment included brain assessment and training, this is where it happened.
